[Bathurst, NSW] Glenray is now proudly participating in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative to help support and raise awareness of those living with a Hidden Disability.

The Hidden Disability Sunflower exists to help those with disabilities that are not immediately obvious such as autism, chronic pain, dementia, anxiety, visual or hearing impairment. Our aim is to help make the invisible, visible.

In Australia and NZ 1 in 6 people are said to have a disability, 80% of these are hidden.

Wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower discreetly indicates to people around the wearer including staff, colleagues and health professionals that they need additional support, help or a little more time.

Glenray Marketing and Communication Manager, Elisa Miller said that Glenray continues to strive to create a more inclusive community and the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative is an excellent way to raise awareness about the challenges that people may be facing and how to support them.

“Glenray are delighted to join the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative, along with the lanyards being available from our head office, we’re training our staff to identify the Sunflower and give them a deeper understanding of Hidden Disabilities and how they can better support them” she said.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative was established in the UK in 2016. Since then it has been adopted globally by major airports, venues, museums, banks and many other small and large businesses. For more information, visit https://hdsunflower.com/au
