Pillar of Glenray Retires After More Than 30 Years of Service

After more than three decades Brian Adams is stepping away from his role as President of the Board of Directors at Glenray. His retirement marks the close of an era defined by compassion, integrity, and a vision that guided Glenray through periods of profound change.

Brian’s connection to Glenray began when he sought accommodation supports for his son, Ben, who lived with disability. In Glenray, he found not just support, but a welcoming community who embraced and supported his family. Inspired to give back, Brian joined  the Board of Directors and soon became a key driver of Glenray’s growth and development.

As the sector evolved, Brian was the steady hand that guided Glenray through significant changes, including the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and challenges such as the 2018 fire that destroyed the Glenray Laundry. Through every transition, he led with foresight and genuine care.

Among his many contributions, Brian was instrumental in the development of Glenray Village in Kelso, where eight supported accommodation homes were built for people living with disability. He also fostered strong relationships with participants and employees, often visiting day programs to check in, have a chat, and engage with those at the heart of Glenray’s work.

Under his strategic guidance, Glenray not only grew in size and capability but also in reputation - becoming a trusted name in disability support for the Bathurst community.

As Brian enters retirement, Glenray extends its gratitude for his service, unwavering commitment, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. His impact will continue to inspire and shape Glenray for many years to come.
